What’s in a name?
One word, BECOME, captures the essence of what we believe God has called us to. Our desire is to become more like Christ and to lead others in that same journey of becoming.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 22:37 (NIV) that the greatest commandment is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” We believe we do this by abiding in Christ through His Word and prayer. As such, Christ works in us to bear His fruit through us, as He tells us in John 15.
We find that we are also exhorted similarly elsewhere in Scripture. Ephesians 5:1-2 (NIV) says, “Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
We want to glorify Christ by abiding in Him so that the image of His Son can be seen more and more clearly in our lives. We covet your prayers that God would form us into the image of His Son, that we could one day say to the juveniles we are discipling, “Be imitators of me as I am of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1, ESV). We are all on a journey of BECOMING.
